After School Program Ages 5 to 14 years The After School Program is located in the Morton Downey Family Resource Center on the Lake Ida Campus. We promote early and consistent success in school and provide continuity of care for children through the teen years. The After School Program is open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Educational enrichment programs, daily homework assistance and special FCAT preparation are important components of our after-school program. We also offer a wide variety of clubs and activities for creative expression and skill building. Students may choose to participate in clubs and activities including music, drumline, dance, art, drama, ceramics, sewing club and basketball. The Morton Downey Family Resource Center features a computer lab, library, study rooms, art center, performing art stage, gym and multiple playground areas. Hot meals and snacks are provided daily at no additional charge. The After School Program serves over 160 students in grades K through 8th from 11 elementary schools. Direct school bus routes, with drop-off and pick-up, provides door-to-door service and guarantees children’s attendance. |
